An annotated checklist of the birds of Burkina Faso

We provide an updated and annotated checklist of Burkina Faso birds. This compilation takes into account our field research (2003, 2010, 2011 2012), museum specimens, a thorough bibliographic search providing references to all the original records for each taxa. clearly define criteria acceptance in discuss dubious or erroneous records. In this list, we adopted HBW-BirdLife International List nomenclature, species sequence, higher level taxonomy (from genus order). The list includes information 566 species, admitting 486 as part bird (updated on 31 December 2020). Twenty-three are conservation concern, among which it is worth mentioning seven vultures.
